From Yasmin Everley's Astrology collection, the pendant takes the form of a circle, which the Ancient Greeks considered the most geometrically perfect shape. It holds a cluster of the stars, accurately forming the constellation, which is held suspended in space by delicate wire. The chain is a rope chain, reminiscent of both the sailors who have used these stars to navigate through the centuries and our coiling strands of DNA. This pendant usually comes in bright polished silver but also looks great in oxidised silver if you prefer. The side view shows Sagittarius but illustrates the three dimensional nature of the design.
In the Ancient Greek tale, when Zeus was born his mother, Rhea, had to conceal him as his father Cronos has eaten all of his previous children to postpone a prophesy of his death. The baby was nursed by the goat-nymph Amaltheia who Zeus, in gratitude, later placed in the stars to honour her.
